Study Background
Researchers at RIH are looking for feedback on the REACH program, designed to boost confidence and well-being among bi/pan/queer college women and non-binary people.
The new program addresses social and dating relationships for college women and non-binary people who are attracted to multiple genders.
If eligible, individuals will participate in a 5 session program. Topics will cover safety in social and dating situations, assertiveness, boundary setting, self-defense, minority stress, and healthy relationships.

Additional Information
The purpose of this study is to get feedback on a new program that addresses social and dating relationships for bi/pan/queer college women and non-binary people.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Ages 18-24
- Cisgender or transgender women and non-binary individuals
- Attracted to multiple or all genders (e.g., bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, queer)
- Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college or graduate/medical program
- Drinks alcohol
- Attending school in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine
Once enrolled, this study involves attending sessions every alternate week, conducted either in-person or virtual. After each session, participants will complete surveys to provide feedback on how we can improve the program.
- Baseline Survey – 1hr
- Session 1 – 1.5 hours
- Session 2 – 2 hours
- Session 3 – 2 hours
- Session 4 – 2 hours
- Session 5 – 1.5 hours
- 2-month Follow-up Survey – 1 hour
- Exit Interview – 1 hour
Compensation up to $560 will be provided for your participation.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
