Study Background

Researchers at Yale University are conducting research to understand how your social connections—like family and friends—can support healthy habits, especially when it comes to smoking. We’re looking for participants with different smoking experiences to help us gather valuable insights that will shape future programs aimed at helping people quit smoking.

Our goal is to explore how social networks and emotions influence smoking behaviors, particularly for individuals affected by cancer. We also want to learn how a cancer diagnosis impacts the smoking habits of family members and friends. Your participation will help us design a new social network-based program to support adults with cancer and their loved ones in quitting smoking.

By joining our study, you’ll be contributing to important research that could make a real difference in the lives of many.
