Study Background
Researchers at Ohio State University want to better understand how flavors of e-cigarettes effect how people use tobacco, quantity smoked, withdrawal symptoms, cravings, dependence, and more!
This study will determine the impact of e-cigarette flavors on product appeal, dependency, and use. We will recruit 1,500 smokers and assign each participant to one of three groups. One group will receive tobacco-flavored e-cigarettes, a second group will receive a selection of 6 different e-cigarette flavors, and the third group will receive nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) patches and lozenges. Each participant will be provided with 12 weeks’ worth of study product, and we will encourage them to switch from using cigarettes to using their study e-cigarette or NRT.
