Online COPD Research Study
Researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center are conducting a research study on a web-based walking and mind-body program for adults living with COPD.
Fast Facts

Diagnosed With COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)

Ages 40+

Compensation
Provided Up To $200

Conducted Online
Study Background
This study explores whether a web-based mind-body exercise and education program can help people with COPD stay physically active through daily walking.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can make regular physical activity challenging, even though walking and gentle movement are known to support overall health and well-being. Previous research shows that staying active can be beneficial for people with COPD, but many individuals face barriers to maintaining consistent activity over time.
The Mindful Steps study is designed to better understand whether an online program that combines education, mind-body exercises, and daily walking support can help people with COPD remain active. The study is fully online and uses virtual visits, online activities, and wearable technology to support participation from home.
