Study Background

The Filipino Family Health Initiative is a research study evaluating an online workshop for parents that may foster your child’s social and academic success. 

By meeting the needs of both generations, accessible and online programs may empower Filipino and multiracial Filipino youth, reducing issues like anxiety and depression. By learning from families directly, researchers hope to improve representation in developmental research and inform programs, resources, and support systems that reflect the needs of Filipino American communities.

This study is being conducted to evaluate an online workshop for parents that may foster your child’s social and academic success.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Have a child aged 8-12 years old
  • Child identifies as Filipino, half-Filipino, or quarter-Filipino
  • Reside in California
  • Read and speak English fluently
  • You will complete a brief eligibility screening
  • Your child will participate in age-appropriate surveys
  • A parent or guardian will complete questionnaires about family background and experiences
  • This study is remote and conducted completely online

Yes, families may receive compensation up to $325 for their time and participation.
