Additional Information

This study is being conducted to better understand how an FDA-approved medication works in the brain and to explore ways to improve treatment for people experiencing unusual thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Have unusual thoughts, feelings, or experiences
  • Ages 18-50
  • Willing to participate in a medication study
  • Medically healthy

The study lasts about 5 weeks, plus a screening visit and a final follow-up visit. The screening visit includes a blood draw, urine sample, physical exam, and questions about their medical and mental health history. If eligible, participants will complete brain imaging scans before starting the FDA-approved study medication, which will be taken for 5 weeks. You may participate in the study as an outpatient and come to the clinic two times a day, or participate as an inpatient on our inpatient research unit. At the end of the 5 weeks, participants will return for another set of brain imaging scans and answer additional questions. Information collected during the study will be kept private.

Participants may receive up to $3,970 for completing the study. Compensation for local transportation is also available.

There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
