Additional Information
The purpose of this clinical research study is to investigate differences in the brains of those with and without Autism.
Your child may qualify for this study if they meet the following criteria.
Key Criteria:
- Children ages 9-10 with parent/guardian participation
- Children have diagnosed Autism (Autism, Aspergers, High Functioning Autism and PDD-NOS)
- Child willing and able to undergo an un-sedated MRI
- Child and parent fluent in English
- No major psychiatric, neurological, or seizure disorders
Once enrolled, this study involves:
- Visits 1-2 (Clinical Visits): Parent and child interviews with questions about how the child has been feeling recently and in the past, a mock MRI scan for the child, cognitive assessments and tasks
- Visits 3-6 (MRI Scans): The child will lay still for about an hour while watching Pixar short films and a movie or video of their choosing. At one of these visits, there is an optional saliva sample collection as well as a few tasks to complete on a tablet.
Compensation is provided up to $570 in gift cards for your time.
There is no cost for you to participate in the study.
