Study Background
Our researchers invite you to join the Smoking Treatment And Remote Sampling (STARS) Study! This is a research study to find out if smoking cessation medications, either varenicline or nicotine replacement products (patches or lozenges), are effective when given to smokers, remotely, as a one-time sample.
People who want to quit smoking often become discouraged after many attempts, making it even harder to quit. “Medication sampling,” or providing a one-time sample of an effective medication, might help to familiarize people with quit-smoking medications and kickstart motivation again.
The study is completely remote and you can participate from anywhere in South Carolina. It lasts for six months and includes one phone call and 5 online surveys. You don’t have to quit in order to participate.
Your participation in this study may help researchers improve treatment approaches for smoking cessation. Advance research today and join our compensated study!
