Study Background
Researchers at the Minneapolis VA are conducting a research study on Veteran Social Support Intervention for Enhancing Smoking Treatment Utilization and Cessation (VAntage Support).
Findings from this clinical research study will determine whether social support networks promote Veteran access and use of evidence-based tobacco cessation treatments.
Both Veteran and support person participants will complete a baseline survey, a 1-month follow-up survey, and a 4-month follow-up survey.
Veterans do not need to be enrolled in VA care in order to participate, and do not need to be ready to quit smoking. A support person (friend or family member) is welcome to reach out first with questions and to sign up.
