Study Background

Researchers at The University of Arizona are evaluating an exercise program for prostate cancer survivors.

Our research is dedicated to the exploration of a groundbreaking study focused on an adapted dyadic physical activity intervention known as Exercising Together (Ejercicio Juntos) for Hispanic men grappling with prostate cancer and their caregivers. This study represents a single-arm endeavor wherein cancer survivors and their designated caregivers embark on a transformative 3-month resistance training program.

Delivered conveniently via Zoom, participants engage in structured 60-minute classes twice a week, led by a certified exercise trainer, supplemented by an additional guided exercise session via instructional videos distributed weekly. Embracing linguistic diversity, all study components, including classes, materials, and assessments, are thoughtfully available in both English and Spanish, ensuring inclusivity and ease of participation for all involved.

Furthermore, participants receive necessary exercise equipment and are compensated for their invaluable contributions, fostering an environment conducive to holistic well-being and exploration of the potential benefits of Exercising Together in enhancing the lives of Hispanic men with prostate cancer and their caregivers.
