Lupus Treatment Research Study

Researchers at Upstate Medical University are conducting a study in adults with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) to see if an investigational medication can reduce tiredness.

Study Background

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) Treatment with N-acetylcysteine (NAC) – SNAC

One of the most common symptoms of lupus is extreme fatigue, or feeling tired all the time. In this 13-month research study, we will evaluate an investigational drug, N-acetylcysteine (NAC), which may improve tiredness in people with SLE.

If you have been diagnosed with SLE, you may be eligible to participate. Patients with uncontrolled disease are welcome to apply to be considered. Eventually, the findings of this study might be useful for treating lupus and improving people’s quality of life.
