Study Background

Scientists at the University of Colorado Anschutz are investigating how cannabidiol (CBD) could impact cannabis consumption, its effects, and associated cravings.

The aim of this research study is to gain a deeper understanding of how cannabidiol (CBD) might impact cannabis use, its effects, and cravings. This investigation seeks to explore these relationships to inform future treatments and interventions.

Participation in the study involves a comprehensive process including a physical exam, lab tests, and the collection of urine and blood samples. Participants will also undergo alcohol breathalyzer tests, answer questions, and complete various questionnaires. The study involves a total of four visits spread over approximately five weeks: an initial screening visit on campus and three subsequent visits conducted at home using our mobile pharmacology lab, a specially equipped van. Participants will receive either CBD or a placebo during the study period.
