Study Background

Researchers at The University of Pittsburgh (UPitt) are conducting a research study to learn more about depression in young people.

Findings from this research study will help kids and teens learn new skills for managing negative thoughts.

This study will take place mostly online. However, families will have to attend 2 in-person lab visits in Pittsburgh.

These in-person and virtual study visits are aimed at developing coping skills to deal with depression.

Additional Information

The purpose of this clinical research study is to help teens develop better coping skills to deal with depression.

You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Key Criteria:

  • 12-15 years old
  • Experiencing symptoms of depression
  • Fluent in English
  • Willing and able to give informed consent
  • No diagnosis of substance abuse or dependence
  • No presence of Psychotic or Autism Spectrum Disorder

Once enrolled, this study involves teaching participants new skills for managing negative thoughts. The study will take place online aside from 2 in-person lab visits.

Compensation is provided up to $210 for your time.
