Additional Information

This study seeks to test a mobile app’s ability to help young adults manage nonsuicidal self-injury and related mental health concerns. By participating, you’ll play a vital role in advancing mental health tools and resources.

You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 24. (Participants in Nebraska must be at least 19 years old.
  • Are a U.S. citizen or resident.
  • Own a smartphone.
  • Have engaged in nonsuicidal self-injury (e.g., cutting, burning) on 2 or more days in the past month.

If eligible, you will:

  • Complete an online screening survey and initial assessment.

  • Use the mobile app for 8 weeks.

  • Complete additional assessments during and after the intervention over a total of 16 weeks, all conducted remotely.

You can receive up to $120 in Virtual Amazon Gift Cards for your time and effort. Compensation includes payments for completing surveys and an interview. Payments are pro-rated based on the number of activities completed and will be sent via email upon completion of each activity.
