Study Background
Understanding the Link Between Trauma, Alcohol Use, and Use of HIV Prevention and Treatment Medications
Many cisgender women prescribed PrEP or ART face overlapping challenges related to trauma and alcohol use. These experiences can affect daily routines, emotional well-being, and consistency in taking HIV prevention or treatment medications. This study seeks to better understand how trauma and alcohol use interact with medication habits and social support systems.
Participants will complete a baseline survey, brief daily check-ins for 30 days, and a follow-up survey. Some may be invited to a one-time interview to share their experiences in more depth. The study is fully remote and designed to respect your time, privacy, and lived experience. Your participation will help improve trauma-informed care and support systems for women navigating HIV prevention and treatment.
