Researchers at Trialmed are conducting a clinical research study for adults aged 18–75 with Type 2 Diabetes. This study is looking at an investigational oral medication and how it works in people who are currently taking metformin but still need better blood sugar management.

Additional Information

This study is testing a new oral medication for Type 2 Diabetes to see if it can safely improve blood sugar control and support weight loss. Researchers are also trying to determine the best dose to use in future larger studies.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Ages 18–75 years old
  • Have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes for at least 6 months
  • Are taking a stable dose of metformin for at least 3 months
  • Have not used insulin in the past 12 months
  • Have not used GLP-1 medications within 6 months of screening
  • HbA1c result (7.0-10.5)

Overall Duration
The study lasts about 6 months.

In-Lab Activities
Participants will attend clinic visits throughout the study.

  • You will start with a screening visit to see if you qualify
  • If eligible, you will return for regular visits about every 2 to 4 weeks
  • At each visit, staff will:
    • Check your vital signs such as blood pressure and heart rate
    • Collect blood samples
    • Measure your weight
    • Ask questions about your health and how you are feeling
  • You may also complete simple questionnaires about your symptoms and daily habits
  • Study staff will record health information to help track your progress

At-Home Activities
You will also take part in study tasks at home.

  • You will take the study medication or placebo by mouth each day
  • You will continue taking your current diabetes medication as directed
  • You will use a glucose monitor to track your blood sugar
  • You will enter your readings and any symptoms into a study app
  • These tasks are done daily and take a few minutes each time

The app collects health information such as blood sugar levels and symptoms. It does not record audio or video.

Participants may receive compensation up to $1,800 for taking part in the study. Payment details will be explained by the study team. Some sites may also help with transportation or parking costs.

There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
