Study Background
Individuals are invited to participate in this research study if they have been diagnosed with a psychosis spectrum illness, such as:
- schizophrenia
- schizoaffective disorder
- attenuated psychosis
- schizophreniform
- major depression with psychosis
- bipolar with psychosis
Receive brain scans (EEG and MRI) and help researchers understand thinking and problem-solving skills. Participants may also be eligible to receive no-cost brain training after 6 months, which will help us understand how to help people with psychosis in the future.

Study Background
Individuals who have been diagnosed with a psychosis spectrum illness, such as:
- schizophrenia
- schizoaffective disorder
- attenuated psychosis

- major depression with psychosis

Additional Information
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Key Criteria:
- 15-45 years old
- Have been diagnosed with a psychosis spectrum illness, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, attenuated psychosis, schizophreniform, major depression with psychosis, or bipolar with psychosis
- Do not have a major neurological disorder, such as seizures, epilepsy, encephalitis, multiple sclerosis, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, or stroke
Once you are enrolled, the study involves:
- Participation in this study involves 4-5 visits (in total, about 15 hours) over 6 months.
- Computerized tasks
- Interviews and questionnaires
- MRI brain scans and EEG tests
- Participation in the optional phase 2 of the study involves 2-3 visits (in total, about 18 hours) over an additional 6 months and would involve the same above tasks with the addition of cognitive training on a iPad.
- Baseline visits: Up to $255
- 6 month Follow Up visits: Up to $225
- Total: Up to $530 (including $10 monthly check-ins)
Optional Phase 2:
- Training Period: $100 – $250
- Post-Training visits: Up to $225
- Final Follow Up visits: Up to $275
- Total: Up to $790 (including $10 monthly check-ins)
