Study Background

The goal of this study is to learn about the inner relationship between aging and immunology. In particular, we want to look closely at “immunological age”. You can think of this as a measure of the condition of your immune system, whereas your “chronological age” is a measure of how long you have been alive.

Specifically, we want to study the molecular cascade (a series of chemical reactions that occur in your cells) that drives change in your immunological age. We also want to study the relationship between immunological aging and the development of diseases associated with chronological aging, especially cardiovascular diseases.

Because twins have exactly the same chronological age, you can be especially helpful in this kind of research. If you and your twin are both in good health, you may qualify to participate. Further research today and join our compensated study!

Additional Information

The purpose of this research study is to explore the inner relationship between immunology and aging.

You and your twin may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Key Criteria:

  • Identical or fraternal twins
  • Ages 40-80
  • Generally healthy
  • Both twins are willing to participate in the study

If eligible, there is 1 initial visit that consists of EKG testing and heart ultrasound imaging, various mobility tests, a blood draw, and possible flu vaccination. If you receive the flu vaccination, there are 3 subsequent blood draw visits.

Compensation is provided up to $75 per study visit for your time. You will also receive a free ultrasound cardiovascular screening.

There is no cost to participate in this research study. Reimbursement for transportation costs may be available.
