Study Background

We’re testing a mobile app designed to help Black & African American adults reduce their cannabis use. This theory-based app will be culturally adapted for Black cannabis users and will respond to feedback from the Community Research Advisory Board. If you are a current cannabis user and want to cut back or quit, you may be eligible to participate in this remote study using your Android phone.

The purpose of this research study is to evaluate a mobile app designed to help Black & African American cannabis users reduce or quit.

You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Key Criteria:

  • 18+ years old
  • Identify as Black or African American
  • Regularly use cannabis
  • Want to cut back or quit
  • Have used cannabis to manage stress or anxiety in the past month
  • Own an Android phone
  • Fluent in English
  • Not currently participating in treatment for other substance use
  • Not involved in psychotherapy for anxiety or depression
  • Not pregnant or planning to become pregnant in the next 6 months

Once enrolled, participation involves two 30-minute appointment calls and 6 weeks of testing app content while receiving three 5-minute surveys each day through the study app.

Compensation is provided up to $160 in Amazon electronic gift cards.
