Study Background
Researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) are conducting a research study to reduce symptoms of psychosis through the use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
Findings from this clinical research study will determine how TMS, a non-invasive way of stimulating the brain, can reduce symptoms associated with psychotic disorders. Symptoms of schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder may include hallucinations, delusions, and difficulties with thinking.
This study involves an MRI scan, clinical interviews, behavioral and cognitive testing, and TMS treatments. Participants will receive five days of TMS treatments, followed by a one week, three week, and six month follow-up visit.
