The goal of this study is to understand the impact of identity-based stigma on mental health and recovery from traumatic events like sexual assault and other stressful life experiences among women and woman-aligned persons.

You may be asked to attend a Zoom meeting to verify your identity and eligibility. Participants will be invited to complete six total online surveys every 6 months for 30 months. These surveys take approximately 45 minutes to complete, so participants’ total time investment in this study will be about 4.5 hours. Participants who experience a traumatic event (e.g., sexual assault, serious illness) while they’re enrolled in the study will be invited to answer follow-up questions about how the experience affects them over time.

You can be paid up to $300 if you complete all of the surveys for this study. You will be paid for each survey in a Tango card, which is a gift card that can be used at a wide variety of retailers such as Amazon, DoorDash, or Target. You will be paid for each survey once we have verified your identity, your eligibility, and the validity of your survey responses. You might be required to attend a Zoom meeting to verify your identity and eligibility before we issue your payment.

There is no cost to participate in this study. You will just need access to a phone or computer to be able to take the surveys.
