Researchers at George Washington University and MedStar Health are conducting a research study on improving quality of life in cancer survivors.
Early adulthood is a critical time in shaping life trajectories related to relationships, families, careers, education and finances among others. Unfortunately, cancer diagnosis and treatment disrupt this critical period for some individuals. This study aims to test approaches to enhance well-being by conducting an 8-week trial of 150 cancer survivors in early adulthood.

Study Background

Unfortunately, cancer diagnosis and treatment disrupt this critical period for some individuals. This study aims to test approaches to enhance well-being by conducting an 8-week trial of 150 cancer survivors in early adulthood.

Additional Information
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Key Criteria:
Individuals ages 18-39 previously diagnosed with cancer
Within 3 years of completing cancer treatment or on maintenance therapy
Not in hospice and not diagnosed with cancer recurrence since treatment completion or central nervous system cancer
No diagnosis of depression, alcohol/drug dependency, psychosis, or bipolar disorder
Speak English
Access to a smartphone
Potential participants will be screened via an online eligibility screener. If eligible, they will be enrolled in the study and be asked to complete an online survey.
- They will then be randomized to one of 2 programs and assigned a coach, who will contact them to introduce the program to them and help them download the app.
- They will receive 8 weekly sessions via the app and 8 weekly coaching phone calls.
- They will then complete a survey at the end of the program and at 4-months post-baseline assessment.
Compensation up to $150 will be provided for participation.
