Study Background
Researchers at the University of South Florida (USF) are investigating sleep in noncompliant children.
Findings from this clinical research study may determine how sleep, behavior, heart rate, and other related variables in children and their families are affected by the child’s Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).
Participants will come into the lab to complete heart rate variability tasks, receive actiwatches, and complete surveys. Participants will return to the lab to drop off watches.

Study Background
Researchers at the University of South Florida (USF) are investigating sleep in noncompliant children.

Additional Information
The purpose of this study is to examine daily sleep and behavior in children with ODD and their families.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Key Criteria:
- Have a child 8-12 years old
- Child diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)
- Child has no neurological, sensory, or motor impairments
- Child has no history of seizures
- Child has no history of intellectual disability, pervasive developmental disorder, global developmental delay or autism spectrum disorder
- Both parent and child speak English
- Child does not use sleep medication or psychostimulant
Once enrolled, this study involves:
- Attending study visits at the lab
- Completing heart rate variability tasks
- Receiving actiwatches
- Completing surveys
- Returning to the lab to drop off watches
Compensation is provided up to $100 for your participation.
