Study Background
As a high school senior, you’re at a transition point in your life. You may find yourself encountering a lot of big decisions, like what to do after high school, how to vote, and how to take care of yourself as a young adult.
One of the decisions you start to make during this time will be how you interact with alcohol. Will you drink with friends? How much will you drink? Will you avoid alcohol completely?
In this research project, we want to study ways to help young adults like you make healthy choices around alcohol. If you’ve had an alcoholic drink at least once in the past year, you may be eligible to participate. The entire study can be completed online and takes place over about 12 months.
Your participation in this study may help researchers find better ways to keep young adults safe when it comes to alcohol. Help advance research today and join our compensated study!

Additional Information
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Key Criteria:
- High school senior (or graduated within the past 3 months), ages 17-19
- Live in Texas
- Willing to attend 3 weekly virtual lab sessions over Zoom
- Willing to provide contact information
- Have consumed alcohol at least once in the past year
- Interested in reducing your drinking, or interested in not increasing your drinking
- Fluent in English
If you are eligible, participation involves:
- 3 remote lab sessions (over Zoom)
- 4 follow-up surveys up to 12 months after the lab sessions
