Study Background
Researchers at The Ohio State University are conducting studies in young adults ages 16–25 to understand tobacco use, health behaviors, and how these behaviors develop and influence daily life.
Researchers at The Ohio State University are conducting a study to better understand how teens and young adults think about health and use tobacco. This includes exploring attitudes, behaviors, and experiences related to tobacco use, as well as how young people obtain and use products such as cigarettes, vapes, nicotine pouches, cigars, and hookah. By learning more about these patterns, we hope to gain insight into the factors that influence tobacco use among young people and identify ways to support healthier decision-making.
The findings from this study may help inform future public health efforts and research aimed at reducing tobacco-related risks and improving the overall health and well-being of teens and young adults.

Additional Information
In this research study, we are trying to understand the health behaviors and tobacco use of adolescents and young adults. We aim to learn more about how young people obtain and use different types of tobacco products and how these behaviors fit into their daily lives, social networks, and environments. Participants will share their thoughts, attitudes, and experiences in an online focus group, and we will also collect brief survey information.
The goal of this study is to better understand the factors that influence youth and young adult tobacco use. The findings may help inform future strategies for health education, prevention, and supporting healthier choices in this population.
