This study seeks to test a mobile app’s ability to help young adults manage nonsuicidal self-injury and related mental health concerns. By participating, you’ll play a vital role in advancing mental health tools and resources.
You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Are between the ages of 18 and 24. (Participants in Nebraska must be at least 19 years old.
- Are a U.S. citizen or resident.
- Own a smartphone.
- Have engaged in nonsuicidal self-injury (e.g., cutting, burning) on 2 or more days in the past month.
If eligible, you will:
Complete an online screening survey and initial assessment.
Use the mobile app for 8 weeks.
Complete additional assessments during and after the intervention over a total of 16 weeks, all conducted remotely.
You can receive up to $120 in Virtual Amazon Gift Cards for your time and effort. Compensation includes payments for completing surveys and an interview. Payments are pro-rated based on the number of activities completed and will be sent via email upon completion of each activity.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
