Additional Information

This study seeks to test a mobile app’s ability to help young adults manage nonsuicidal self-injury and related mental health concerns. By participating, you’ll play a vital role in helping create tools and resources for people like you.

You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 24. (Participants in Nebraska must be at least 19 years old).
  • Are a U.S. citizen or resident.
  • Own a smartphone.
  • Have engaged in nonsuicidal self-injury (e.g., cutting, burning) on 2 or more days in the past month.

If eligible, you will:

  • Complete an online screening survey and initial assessment.
  • Use the mobile app for 8 weeks.
  • Complete additional assessments remotely at week 4, week 8, week 12, and week 16, over a total of 16 weeks.

Payments are pro-rated based on the number of activities completed and will be sent via email upon completion of each activity.

There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
