Hepatitis B Research Study
Researchers at The Rockefeller University are testing the safety of a new antibody against chronic Hepatitis B.

Study Background
Researchers at The Rockefeller University are testing the safety of a new antibody against chronic Hepatitis B.
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) remains a major global health problem, with an estimated 257 million people living with the infection worldwide. HBV medications can reduce HBV to very low levels in the blood and partially repair the immune system (the system that helps your body respond to diseases). In this study, we’ll be examining the safety of a potential new therapy for HBV.
If you have been diagnosed with Hepatitis B and are currently taking medication for it, you may be eligible to participate in this compensated research study. Eventually, we hope that the findings of this study might be useful for treating HBV and improving people’s quality of life.

Additional Information
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of a single intravenous (through a vein in your arm) infusion of a new antibody against HBV.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- 18+ years old
- Diagnosed with Hepatitis B (HBV)
- Currently taking medication for Hepatitis B
First, we’ll conduct a phone interview for further screening. If you are eligible to participate, study visits include:
- A screening visit at the RU Hospital for you to learn more about the study and to obtain your consent to collect blood and urine samples to confirm that you are eligible to participate
- An infusion of the antibody or placebo
- 11 follow-up visits over 48 weeks
All study visits take place at Rockefeller University, 1230 York Ave, New York, NY 10065.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
Participants will receive compensation for their time and effort.
