Study Background
We want to learn about how binge eating relates to stressful events in teens’ day-to-day lives.
Binge eating can have a strong influence over teens’ body image, emotions, and overall well-being. All teens have different experiences with binge eating; through Project eMOTION, we hope to better understand teens’ experiences with binge eating and create better support systems for them.
Participants in our research study will complete an online study visit which includes some surveys that can be filled out on a phone or a computer, followed by an interview about their eating habits. Then, we will set participants up with an app which they will use to complete brief, 2-minute surveys 5 times a day for 3 weeks. The surveys will ask about mood, social experiences, eating, and other behaviors.
