Study Background

Researchers at Emory University are studying ways to make violence prevention better for transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse people. The want to help health and social services in the community provide better support for all.

This study, happening in Georgia, will look at gaps in services that prevent violence. The researchers will talk to community leaders, service providers, and transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse people in focus groups and interviews to learn more about their experiences.

The findings will help make a stronger violence prevention program and an educational course to improve services for transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse people in the Southern US.

Additional Information

The goal is to create a new plan for preventing violence against TGD people. This plan will focus on training, building community partnerships, and making services better.

You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • 18+ years old
  • Transgender, non-binary, or gender diverse
  • Live, work, or receive care in Georgia
  • Access to a device to participate in Zoom interviews

If you are eligible and consent to the study, you can expect to participate in a virtual focus group via Zoom, and you may be invited for an additional private virtual interview.

As a participant in this study, you can receive up to $50 for your participation in the focus group, and, if invited, can earn another $50 for your participation in the additional private virtual interview.

There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
