Additional Information
We aim to learn how breaking up your child’s sitting time will influence their blood sugar, mood, and attention. Our goal is to learn how to prevent diabetes in children.
Your child may qualify for a study if they meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Child between 8-11 years old
- Overweight
- Able to attend study visits at USC Health Sciences Campus (transportation reimbursement available)
The study includes the following:
- One screening visit of about 2 hours
- One week of visits that include: 2 morning visits of about 6 hours each, and 5 afternoon visits of about 3.5-4 hours each
- Parents/guardians will be informed about all procedures and must give consent
- Wearing an activity monitor for 7 days and completing a diet survey twice at home
- We offer flexible timing so that study visits fit you and your child’s schedule
Compensation up to $900 is provided for participation in this study.
There is no cost to participate in this study.
