Researchers at Yale University are conducting a study with individuals that have recently been diagnosed with cancer (last 12 months) and currently smoke cigarettes. This research will help us learn more about the health behaviors of you, your family, and your network of friends.

Additional Information

We’re conducting this study to learn more about your health behaviors and how your social circle—like your friends and family—may support behaviors like smoking. We’re looking for people who currently smoke cigarettes to help us gather insights that will guide us in creating programs to help others quit smoking in the future.

After you agree to participate, you will choose a survey format that suits you best—online, by mail, over the phone, or through a Zoom session. You might also be invited to join a virtual interview, which will be audio-recorded.

If necessary, we may ask for a small biological sample, like saliva. The entire study can be done remotely from your home.

Participants may receive up to $150 in gift cards for completing 4 surveys, and an additional $50 for completing an interview.

There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
