We are inviting you to join because you have schizophrenia and are currently taking medication for it, but continue to experience symptoms.

While participating in this study may not directly improve your schizophrenia, it could help doctors better understand the study drug and schizophrenia, potentially benefiting future patients. Your health may improve, remain the same, or worsen during the study.

We are conducting this study to better understand schizophrenia and how to treat it.

You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Ages 18-65
  • Diagnosed with schizophrenia
  • Currently taking antipsychotic medications, but still have symptoms
  • Not currently pregnant, lactating, or less than 3 months postpartum
  • No history of moderate to severe substance use disorder (other than nicotine) within the past 12 months
  • Taking one of the following medications: risperidone, paliperidone, aripiprazole, ziprasidone, lurasidone, or cariprazine
  • Not taking olanzapine, quetiapine, or haloperidol

We will collect demographic information, medical and psychiatric history, body measurements (such as height and weight), urine and blood samples, and conduct physical exams, vital sign checks, and EKGs. Participants will also complete study interviews and questionnaires.

The study duration is approximately 92 days. This includes a 28- to 40-day Screening Period, 6-week Treatment Period, and a 1-week safety monitoring visit.

You will receive a payment of approximately $400 per visit during the study for your time (visits 1-9). The maximum total of these payments is $3600. You will be paid following each completed visit.
