Study Background
Stigma-Treatment Enhanced Incentivized Directly Observed Therapy for People with HIV who Inject Drugs (I-STRIVE)
People living with HIV and substance use issues face barriers to care. This study is working to create an evidenced-based mental health treatment for people living with HIV who have substance use disorders. Participants will complete a series of research visits that may include computerized questionnaires and talk therapy, in addition to using a mobile app that tracks medication adherence.
This is a research study being conducted at Fenway Health and funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA). The goal of the study is to address problems that can get in the way of people using healthcare and taking their medication. Problems can include negative attitudes that we have taken to heart, which we call internalized stigma, and other similar emotions.
If you are 18 or older, have a history of drug use, and are living with HIV, you could be eligible to participate in this study. Help advance research by enrolling today.
