Join Us in the Fight Against High Blood Pressure: A Community-Driven Research Study
Researchers at Stanford University are conducting a research study to determine whether mobile health technology enhances blood pressure control compared to usual care.

Is This Study Right for You?

Ages 30-90

Have High Blood Pressure (top number is ≥ 140 mmHg)

Conducted in California
Why This Study Matters
Researchers are conducting a research study to assess changes in systolic and diastolic blood pressure over time.
This study focuses on adults aged 30–90 years with uncontrolled hypertension (SBP ≥ 140 mmHg), limited to those on two or fewer antihypertensive medications. Over 6-9 months, the trial will assess blood pressure changes and medication adjustments. The goal is to determine whether this technology can improve high blood pressure outcomes efficiently.
Participants will use remote blood pressure monitoring devices, enabling clinicians to adjust medications promptly based on real-time data.
See how you can make a difference!

Everything You Need to Know
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether mobile health technology, combined with remote blood pressure monitoring, improves blood pressure control and medication adjustments in adults aged 30-90 years with uncontrolled high blood pressure, compared to usual care.
You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Ages 30-90
- Have high blood pressure (systolic blood pressure (top number) is ≥ 140 mmHg)
- On less than 3 blood pressure medications
- Own a smartphone
- No stroke or heart attack within the last 6 months
- Not enrolled in another clinical study
- Not currently pregnant
Participants will meet with the study coordinator in the clinic for the Baseline Visit, where they will be assisted with pairing their smartphone to their BP monitor.
Participants will be called for follow-up visits at the 3-month and 6-month timepoints for blood pressure measurements, medication adjustments, survey responses, and adverse event assessment.
- During visits, blood pressure will be measured according to American Heart Association guidelines.
- Participants in the intervention arm will use an FDA-approved remote blood pressure cuff integrated with the provider dashboard, and all patients will be connected to MyHealth with the mobile app.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
