Additional Information

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of a smartphone-based speech therapy app to help stroke survivors who are experiencing speech problems (dysarthria).

You or the individual you care for may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Ages 18+
  • Stroke survivor experiencing speech problems (dysarthria)
  • No other neurological conditions
  • Have no problems using a smartphone application
  • Speak English

Participants will have an initial meeting via Zoom with researchers. Eligible participants will either be able to immediately begin treatment, or will begin treatment in 4 weeks. 

Treatment involves completing speech therapy activities in a smartphone-based app for 30-45 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks. There are also 3 in-app evaluations.
