Cannabis Use Research Study
The University of Pittsburgh is conducting a research study to explore why and how people use cannabis, their experiences while using it, and its effects.

Study Background
Cannabis is becoming increasingly accessible across the U.S. and attitudes and behaviors are changing as a result. CREATE examines experiences and behaviors through smartphone-based surveys and in a lab-based visit.
This study involves both in-person and remote activities. Participants will first complete a baseline visit with a survey and lab tests, then track their heart rate and answer surveys on their phone for 17 days. They will get follow-up surveys at 6 months and a final check-in after 12 months, which includes more surveys and lab tests.

Additional Information
The CREATE study utilizes a community-engaged research approach to examine reasons for using cannabis, type of cannabis use and method of use, experiences while using cannabis, and outcomes of use.
You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:

Ages 18-25

Identify as Black/African American or White/European American

Use cannabis weekly

Read and speak English
This is a hybrid study. Parts of the study can only be conducted in person, such as the physio part of the baseline and 12-month visit. Other parts can be done remotely in order to reduce participant burden, such as interviews and surveys.
Participants will receive up to $225.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study. Participants will receive compensation for transportation and/or an Uber/Lyft participants to our site
