Study Background
Researchers at the University of Houston are developing materials to help Mexican, Mexican American, Central American, and South American individuals living with HIV who smoke reduce anxiety sensitivity, quit smoking, and manage their HIV care.
We have been working to develop culturally tailored digital materials for anxiety sensitivity reduction, smoking cessation, and HIV care engagement/management among Mexican, Mexican American, Central American, and South American populations. Through this study, we hope to gather feedback on our materials in order to adapt and refine them.
Eligible participants will complete a 2-hour virtual interview during which they will watch 4 of our videos and provide feedback, as well as complete pre- and post-interview surveys.

Additional Information
We hope that the feedback we gather through this study will help us adapt our materials in order to make them more effective. In the long term, we can offer these materials more widely to help larger numbers of Mexican, Mexican American, Central American, and South American individuals living with HIV who smoke manage their care and quit smoking.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Ages 18+ and diagnosed with HIV
- Identify as Mexican/Mexican American/Central American/South American
- Cigarette smoker interested in quitting smoking
This study will consist of a 2-hour virtual interview on Zoom. Eligible participants will first complete an initial survey, then watch 4 of our videos and provide feedback, and then complete a post-interview survey.
Participants may receive a $100 electronic gift card for completing all study procedures.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
