Study Background

Exploring MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD and alcohol use in U.S. Veterans

This study is focused on understanding the potential of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy as a treatment for U.S. Veterans dealing with PTSD and alcohol use. MDMA, a psychedelic substance, has shown promise in clinical trials as an effective tool when paired with psychotherapy to alleviate symptoms of PTSD. By examining its effects specifically in Veterans, we aim to gather critical data on how this treatment approach can offer emotional healing and practical support for those affected by these conditions.

Our study is designed to assess both the feasibility and acceptability of MDMA-assisted therapy for Veterans, as well as its potential to improve PTSD and alcohol use outcomes. Participants will engage in an 11-week therapy program, including two MDMA sessions with licensed psychotherapists, providing valuable insight into whether this novel approach can help Veterans on their path to recovery.
