Study Background
Researchers at CHLA and institutions nationwide are working together to study risk factors for diabetes in children.
Type 2 diabetes is becoming more common nationwide, and it’s important to understand who is most at risk so clinicians can intervene early in life to prevent the development of the disease.
Our study aims to recruit a diverse group of youth who are overweight and obese and learn more about personal and family health history, how the body processes sugar, and how other aspects of health contribute to risks for diabetes throughout adolescence.
