Conducted in La Jolla, CA
Study Background
Both of these medications (extended-release naltrexone, an injectable medication, plus bupropion (XR-NTX/BUP-XL) pills) are FDA approved and have been used to treat other health conditions.
During this time, participants will attend study appointments twice a week at our clinic in La Jolla, which we can offer transportation to if needed. They will also use a smartphone app to record themselves taking the study pills every day. After the 12-week treatment phase, participants complete a taper week to taper off the medication, and two follow up visits, for a total of ~19 weeks of participation including the screening visits.
