Researchers at the University of New Mexico are conducting the Reforming Alcohol Use Disorder Assessment (RAUDA) study to better understand how people experience alcohol use and related issues like stress. By sharing your experiences in a confidential online survey, you’ll contribute to research that aims to improve how alcohol use is measured and addressed in both research and clinical settings.
This study involves a one-time, 45-minute online survey that includes questions about your background, drinking habits, and life experiences. Your input will help researchers develop better tools to assess alcohol use and related outcomes. Participation is voluntary and confidential, and you can choose to skip any question you’re not comfortable answering.

The goal of this study is to improve how alcohol use and related outcomes are assessed in both research and clinical practice. Understanding individual experiences with alcohol can lead to more accurate and inclusive assessment tools.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Drink alcohol regularly
- Be willing to complete an online survey about alcohol use and related experiences
- Ages 18+
- Live in the United States
- Individuals who identify as African American/Black or Hispanic are encouraged to apply
If you’re eligible, you’ll be invited to complete a one-time, online survey that takes approximately 45 minutes. You can skip any question by selecting the “I choose not to respond” option. Participation is voluntary, and you can stop at any time.
Yes. Eligible participants will receive a $40 electronic gift card (Amazon, Walmart, or Target options are available) upon completion of the survey.
