Study Background

Researchers at Virginia Tech and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center are examining how tobacco/nicotine purchase patterns may be affected by new tax proposals.

Through this study, we are investigating how price changes and different scenarios may have an impact on purchase patterns. We also hope to learn more about why individuals purchase certain products, which could help us understand specific harms associated with tobacco use.

This compensated study consists of 2 in-person visits, as well as a follow-up held via phone or Zoom.

This is not a smoking cessation treatment study.
