Study Background

Researchers at Arch Clinical Trials are developing a drug to help adults with Tourette Syndrome.

Through this study, we will test the effectiveness of a new drug compared to the placebo. We also are investigating how participants react to this medication. 

This is a double-blind study that may involve up to 10 sessions. Up to 8 sessions take place in person, and up to 2 sessions are conducted remotely.

This is a double-blind study that involves 10 total sessions. 6 sessions take place in person, and 4 are conducted remotely.

Additional Information

You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Ages 18+
  • Diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome
  • At a healthy weight (BMI within the range 18 to 35 kg/m2)
  • Not currently using cannabis, cocaine, or nonprescribed opiates
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Not participating in another research study or use of another experimental treatment recently

This study consists of 10 sessions, 6 of which are in person, and 4 of which are conducted remotely. 

During the screening period, we will ask you to stop taking any medicine you currently take for Tourette Syndrome. You will take placebo during that period. Throughout the study, you will also be asked to complete various questionnaires and testing including some blood and urine samples.

  • Screening:
    • Up to 2 in-person visits

  • Study Treatment:
    • 5 in-person visits
    • Up to 2 remote sessions

  • End-of-study follow-up:
    • 1 in-person session

In total, participants can receive up to $1,500 for completing all study sessions.
