Study Background
This study is testing how nicotine levels in cigarettes and e-cigarettes may influence cigarette smoking behavior.
Researchers are interested in learning more about the role nicotine plays in smoking and vaping. The goal is to see whether using study-provided cigarettes and e-cigarettes with varying nicotine contents changes how much participants smoke regular cigarettes. This research is not a treatment program and is not designed to help participants quit smoking.
If you join, you’ll be asked to smoke and vape only the products provided to you by the study team. These may contain the same amount or less nicotine than store-bought products. Over 14 weeks, you’ll complete a mix of virtual and in-person visits, including weekly curbside exchanges in Burlington, VT, to pick up new products and complete brief health checks.
