Study Background
Can a new oral nicotine pouch help reduce traditional cigarette smoking?
The purpose of this research study is to find out if the use of nicotine pouches can help reduce conventional cigarette smoking and influence health effects from smoking. Nicotine pouches are pre-filled microfiber pouches containing nicotine powder that dissolves in the mouth without requiring spitting.
The nicotine pouches used in this study contain either 0, 3, or 6 milligrams of nicotine. The nicotine in this product is pharmaceutical grade, derived from tobacco plants. When you place it in your mouth, the nicotine is slowly released, and after 30-60 minutes, the pouch can be discarded. Each pouch can be used in place of one cigarette to reduce smoking.
If you currently smoke cigarettes and are interested in reducing your smoking, this study may be a good fit for you. Find out if you are eligible today.
