Remote Chronic Back Pain Research Study

Researchers at Brown University Health are conducting a study to learn how chronic pain and medication use change over time.

Conducted Remotely

Study Background

What is the HOPE Trial?

Researchers at Brown University Health are conducting the HOPE Trial to better understand how people experience and manage chronic pain over time. This study uses remote participation to make it easier for people to take part from home. After a brief video call with the research staff, participants will track their daily pain levels and medication use through short online surveys for six weeks.

By collecting this information, the HOPE Trial aims to identify patterns in how pain and medication needs change day to day. This knowledge could help improve future treatment approaches and provide insights into living with chronic pain. Participants will receive study materials by mail, including a copy of the consent form, and can earn compensation for their time.
