Study Background

Could you or your child help advance treatments for Narcolepsy and Idiopathic Hypersomnia?

Researchers at Stanford University are conducting several clinical trials for patients ages 7 and older who have a confirmed diagnosis of Narcolepsy or Idiopathic Hypersomnia. These studies are designed to evaluate different medications that may improve symptoms and quality of life for people living with these sleep disorders. Participation takes place at the Stanford Sleep Clinic in Redwood City, with the number of onsite visits varying by study.

Because these are multi-site trials, each study has its own requirements and logistics. Some involve mostly in-person visits, while others may only require a single onsite visit. Compensation differs by study, and transportation support may also be provided (including arranged rides or reimbursement). To qualify, participants must be able to travel to Redwood City during normal business hours, have no recent or active depression or suicidal ideation, and ensure any other medical or psychiatric conditions are well managed.
