Study Background
Researchers at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences, funded by the National Institutes of Health, are conducting a study in young adults to better understand cigarillo use and smoking behavior.
Cigarillo use can affect smoking behavior, mood, and attitudes toward tobacco products. This study aims to better understand how young adults use cigarillos, how different types of cigarillos influence smoking patterns, and how these experiences affect individuals’ feelings and perceptions.
By studying cigarillo use in a controlled research setting, we hope to gain insights that could inform public health approaches, improve understanding of tobacco use, and support efforts to reduce the risks associated with smoking.
The findings from this research may help guide interventions and policies to reduce tobacco use in young adults.
