Remote GLP-1 & Substance Use Research Study
Researchers at the University of Michigan are conducting a study on substance use patterns and emerging trends, like taking GLP-1 medications, among adults in the United States.
Fast Facts

Have been prescribed a GLP-1 (e.g., Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, Zepbound)

Regularly use substances (e.g., alcohol, cannabis)

Compensation
provided up to $390

Conducted remotely
Study Background
This study aims to better understand how people use multiple substances and how new trends, like GLP-1 medications, may be shaping those patterns.
Substance use continues to evolve over time, with new combinations of substances and medications becoming more common. Researchers are working to better understand how individuals use substances together, how these patterns change, and what factors may influence them. Emerging trends, such as the use of GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Wegovy, are an important part of this changing landscape.
By participating in this study, individuals can help researchers gain deeper insight into real-world experiences with substance use. This information may support future public health efforts, improve understanding of substance use behaviors, and help inform strategies to better support individuals and communities.
